Pairing
The phone can't find the Mac
- Make sure the phone and the Mac are on the same Wi-Fi, and that Linkoid is open on the Mac with its pairing window showing.
- On the Mac, open "Phone can't find this Mac?" in the pairing window to see its address, then type it on the phone under "Mac not found? Enter its address".
- Some guest and office networks keep devices from seeing each other. Try the phone's hotspot instead.
"This code has expired" or "Your Mac isn't ready to pair"
The code on the Mac changes every few minutes. Show a new one with Pair Your Phone in Linkoid on the Mac, then scan again.
Staying connected
- The phone's Linkoid notification says whether it's connected. If it says "Waiting for" your Mac, tap Try now.
- Some phones stop background apps to save battery. If Linkoid asks to keep running, allow it.
- Linkoid on the phone has a Troubleshooting screen with the connection's status, a Reconnect now button and a place to type the Mac's address.
Linkoid Tablet
- Open Linkoid Tablet on the Mac and scan the QR code its window shows with the tablet. The code renews itself until a tablet pairs.
- The first time, macOS asks to allow Screen Recording and Accessibility for Linkoid Tablet. The window shows both, with a button for each.
